Protein. We all know it is important, but why? What makes this critical nutrient so important that all life here on Earth depends on it – from eukaryotic bacteria 3.5 billion years ago to life as we know it today?
Protein is literally the currency of life here on Earth. Much like cash can be used to purchase just about anything you want, protein is used to support your body in just about any way you can imagine.
Most people are aware that protein is essential for muscle repair, growth and maintenance, but did you know that it is also critical to your daily energy levels, mental performance, positive mood balance and general feelings of well being?
